Search Help
These guidelines can help you refine your search. Follow the instructions below to:
Designate a term as required for all results

Place a plus sign (+) directly in front of a word that absolutely must be included in your search results.

Search example 1: +heart

This search will return only all pages that include the word heart.

Search example 2: +heart +cholesterol

This search will return only all pages that include both the words heart and cholesterol somewhere on the page.

Search example 3: heart +cholesterol.

This search will return all pages that include the word cholesterol, but these pages may or may not include the word heart.
Search for more than one term at once

Type all words that you would like to search for. You do not need to use the word "or," as this relationship will be assumed.

Search example: heart cholesterol lipid

This search will return pages where any one, two, or all of these terms appear anywhere on the page, regardless of whether these terms appear together.
Exclude certain words from your search

Place a minus sign (-) directly in front of a word that you'd like to filter from your search. For instance, you might be interested to learn about heart health but not about heart defects.

This search will return all pages that include the word heart as long as the word defects does not appear on the page as well.
Search for a specific phrase

Enclose the exact phrase in quotation marks.

Search example: "heart disease risk."

This search will return only pages where the entire phrase occurs exactly as you typed it.
Search for a combination of a word and a phrase

Place a plus sign (+) directly in front of both the word and the exact phrase that you want to include in your search.

Search example: +Heart +"good cholesterol"

This search will only return pages that contain the word heart pages that also include the exact term "good cholesterol."
Exclude a specific phrase from your search

Place a minus sign (-) directly in front of the phrase that you want to filter from your search. For instance, you might be interested to learn about most heart subjects but not as they relate to family history.

Example: +heart -"family history" Results will only include pages within which the word heart occurs but the phrase family history does not occur.
