How do I get started?

You will need to do three things.

  1. Create an account with Quest Diagnostics.
  2. Connect to your participating physician. There are two ways to connect to your physician:
    • Ask your physician to provide you with a secure PIN, or
    • Visit a Patient Service Center* with a lab order and provide us with your email address. We'll send you an email and let you know what you should do next.
  3. Connect to the Personal Health Record of your choice and start viewing your results.

I don't have a Quest Diagnostics Account. How do I create one?

There are two ways to create a Quest Diagnostics Account.

  1. Create an account online or
  2. Take your next lab order to a Patient Service Center* and give us your email address. After your visit, we'll send you an email with instructions.

How do I connect to my physician?

There are two ways to connect with your physician.

  1. Take your next lab order to a Patient Service Center* and give us your email address. We'll contact your physician, and if the practice uses Quest Diagnostics computer system, and agrees to release your results, we'll set up the connection for you; or
  2. Ask your physician for a PIN letter or email. Once they give you the PIN, follow the instructions to create the connection.

If your physician cannot give you a PIN because the practice is not using our computer system, share our service overview containing information about the program.

How do I add a connection to more than one physician?

If you have more than one physician, and want to receive results from them, you will need to create a connection with each physician office.

How do I find out if my physician is participating?

What if my physician is not participating?

Let your physician know you're interested in receiving your Quest Diagnostics lab results electronically. Share our service overview with your physician.

Using Your PIN

I misplaced my PIN. What do I do?

Please contact your physician to get a new one. Once a new PIN is given to you, your old PIN will no longer be valid.

My PIN has expired. What do I do?

To protect your privacy, the PIN is designed to expire four weeks after it is issued. Please contact your physician to get a new one.

Is my secure PIN required each time I log into my Quest Diagnostics Account?

No, you will only need your secure PIN the first time you create a connection with your physician.

Registering for a Personal Health Record

How do I connect to Google Health™, Keas™, or Microsoft® HealthVault™?

After you create your Quest Diagnostics Account and connect to your physician, you will be prompted to connect to a Personal Health Record.

How do I know which Personal Health Record would be best for me?

Each Personal Health Record offers you a range of features and capabilities, including the type of information that can be imported or manually entered, the presentation of your lab results, such as graphing and trending, and your ability to grant permission to share your information with others. Visit the individual service web sites to learn more: Google Health™, Keas™, or Microsoft® HealthVault™.

Is there a charge for receiving my Quest Diagnostics lab results through my Personal Health Record?

No. Receiving your lab results electronically is free of charge.

How do I find out if my physician is participating?

Ask your physician if they are participating. Share our service overview to let them learn more about the program.

What if my physician is not participating?

If your physician isn't participating there are several options for getting your results.

  1. Encourage your physician to sign up so that you can get your results online.Share our service overview with your physician.
  2. or

  3. You may also receive your test results directly from your physician.
    • Next time your physician orders a lab test, ask your physician to indicate on the requisition that Quest Diagnostics should also send you a copy of the test results. Most tests take 1–10 days to complete.
    • If you want a copy of previous test results you can ask your physician to send you a copy.

  4. You can fill out a form to get your test results directly from Quest Diagnostics if your state of residence permits. You can obtain an "Access Form" by sending an email to the Privacy Officer or call the regional laboratory closest to you. Once we receive your completed form, you will receive your test results within approximately 30 days.

Can Quest Diagnostics provide me with medical charts from hospitals, prescriptions, x-rays, etc.?

No, Quest Diagnostics only provides laboratory test results; please contact your physician for information other than lab results.

I can't see my results. What should I do?

  1. Make sure that you have done all of these things:
  2. Verify that your physician's office has released your results. It may take a few hours for the results to appear in your Personal Health Record after the physician has released them.
